…so. I have reached a new low (or have I?) in not updating in over a year. I have all these half-written drafts that are just… half-written. And nowhere near completion anytime soon. So here’s another of those point-form overall dump-y type of updates. :’D;;

BJD: Work/Event

  • anemone has been rebranded to Ma Petite Cherie!
  • Actually achieved a very significant milestone of producing doll wigs! Only 3 styles in 4 colors and 1 size (21cm) for now but hey, it’s a really big start!
  • First time having a booth in an overseas doll convention (DollPaCa in Bangkok)! We timed it so that we could launch MPC and the wigs together
  • Went out on a leg with T to organize a doll event in Singapore: DOLLelong. It’s currently in the booth application stage. Really hoping it’ll work out!
  • Attended my first Dolpa in March this year! I was a little disappointed but it was a HTDP in Kyoto, so the scale was kinda small. I’m hoping the Tokyo ones would be much better!
  • Skipped the annual doll trip to Hong Kong in July this year due to budget constraints, unfortunately :(!
  • Decided to take on a fandom-related booth at SGDC this year (Touken Ranbu) but 4 costumes proved too much for me to handle after all. In the end, we did a no-show, oops. I learned a lot in terms of Japanese-style outfit sewing when sweatshopping the costumes though! Especially because I stupidly decided to try making them as historically accurate as possible.

Got Lolita!

April and May had been extremely stressful months due to responsibilities at work and this was a perfect excuse for me to indulge in some expensive shopping.

On to the spoils!

First, the Lace Design Skirt from Moi meme Moitie! I’ve liked this ever since I saw Mana modelling the OP in one of the Gothic & Lolita Bibles. However, I’m not fond of full shirring and shirred short sleeves, so I’m glad there’s the skirt! I’ve always thought it was embroidery but turned out that the lace pattern is printed instead. I’m not particularly disappointed because it looks lovely and intricate as it is. Plus, embroidery probably would have meant that it would cost much more!

Next, the Amour d’Amants JSK from Juliette et Justine! Okay, I admit that there are quite a few things that I regret not getting when I had the chance but this has to be one of those that really gnawed at me as time passed (others would be AATP Midsummer Night’s Dream in black, and my dream dress, the BTSSB Koitsukihime Stained Glass JSK in black!). When a dear friend alerted me to the re-release, I placed an order without hesitation.

It’s not so much the print that I like but the latin text and what the painting portrays. A quick summary of the explanation on the JetJ website is that the young man confesses his love to the beautiful princess but she dares not accept in fear that her previous lover who has passed away may not be happy. The latin text goes as,”Tempora mutantur, et nos mutamur in illis” which means that time passes and we all change as time passes us by.

Moreover, I’m really partial to JSKs with a solid color bodice and an elaborate print at the bottom. ;) So classy! A random coordinate that I put together:

I need more flowers on my head. /shot

Samantha Thavasa Halloween Happy Packs!

Samantha Thavasa Singapore held a Halloween happy pack event yesterday! I first heard about this event via a colleague’s blog, upon which, I immediately pinged the girls about it. XD Plans were, of course, subsequently arranged to head down in the morning on the actual happy pack day, no surprises there. ;D

In the morning before store opening!

Ion was certainly still really dark at 9AM. ^^; More importantly, we were first in the queue with zero competition! I had to work on that day, so I couldn’t queue with the rest but I did reach the store in the morning too. Had to leave in about 10 minutes though, so I’m not sure what happened after that. :(

So, loot pics! These are from my pack:

My happy pack's contents! ♥

I’m super in love with the bag!! To me, one of Samantha Thavasa’s signature looks has to be the heart quilting, so I am really glad to have gotten something with that. ♥ I’ve also been hankering after a black handbag (been eyeing something from Samantha Vega, ehehe), so this is just perfect. It’s a SamTha x Disney collection, so there are tiny Disney-fied details, such as the bag charm and inner lining.

Bag charm!
Inner lining!

The wallet and pass case are from the collaboration with Liberty Print. I’m not very keen on long wallets so I traded that for a scrunchie and key-holder. The scrunchie is a really big fluffball which looks really dubious on its own, so I turned it into a bag charm instead.

On my Snidel e-mook supplement bag!

I think that works so much better. XD
